Please follow these guidelines to ensure that your quilt is ready for longarming...

  • Your quilt backing must measure a minimum of 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top. This will ensure that there is enough extra fabric to load your quilt on the frame.
  • Check that your quilt is free of loose threads and press your top if necessary.
  • Remove all embellishments like buttons, crystals etc. from your quilt top unless you are requesting custom quilting.
  • If you choose to provide your own batting please ensure that is also 8 inches wider and 8 inches long than your quilt top. Should we feel that your batting is not appropriate for your quilt we will advise you. We have top quality Hobbs 80/20 batting in stock and available at a reasonable price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I bring when I drop off my quilt?

  • You will need to bring your quilt top, backing and batting (if you will be supplying that yourself)
  • If we are attaching the binding on your quilt please bring your completely prepared binding and ensure that it is at least 18" longer than the overall size of your quilt

Will you help me pick the right quilting design and thread for my quilt?

  • Whether you choose and Edge-to-Edge design or custom quilting we will help you select exactly the right design and thread colour for your quilt. We have hundreds of designs to choose from and even more options for Custom Quilting so we will guide you through this process and ensure that you are happy with your quilt when it is finished.

How long will it take before I get my quilt back?

  • It typically takes about 2 weeks for your quilt to be finished. Quilts are scheduled for quilting as they are dropped off at the Studio. Occasionally there are delays and we will of course keep you informed if this should happen.
